They are made of fleece, and on the stitching surrounding the blanket’s edges is written the history of the family. It says the parents’ names, the siblings’ names, the baby's name, birth date, weight and length of the baby and then it has a cute phrase like “cuddle up” or “blanket of joy” written around the rest of the edges.
I have one of these for each of my kids, and I’ve given them out to oodles of friends. It’s not just a monogrammed gift or something with the child’s name on the front – it’s as personal as it gets. And while not everyone lives in Antarctica, we can all still cuddle up with blankets in the house and in the crib.
