Personalize It!
When personal gifts mean special gifts (1-24-08)
By: Romi Sussman www.RomiSussman.comYes, we happen to have over 20 personalized baby blankets in the house. And, no, we don’t live in a freezing cold climate where we need to bundle the babies each day. But, hey, I love this gift anyway.
Why? Well, I find a personalized baby gift to be a tender and adorable way to welcome a new child into the world. There are oodles upon oodles of options for personalizing items – from tshirts and photo albums to blankets and books. Each gift shows that you took the time to think of something just for that little someone and that you want them to have something special – something that is only for them.
There is, of course, the argument that they might not like the gift, or that they might want to return it…and they’re stuck with it if it’s been monogrammed or personalized. But, we can’t always worry about how the recipient will feel about the delivery of a gift. We can only do our best to make something nice and to hope that they’ll appreciate the sentiment. So, go ahead and find that great gift, and then personalize it. Just do it!
